This book is a continuation of Book I – Basic sounds (Secrets 1-15). In this book, Book II – Advanced sounds (Secrets 16-21), we go deeper into sounds of the Thai language. If you are new to the Thai language, it is recommended that you study Book I first.

Book II teaches you the advanced sounds of the Thai language such as consonant clusters, rare consonants, vowel combinations, final sounds and tones rules. It includes the audio file spoken by native speakers to give you examples of how the special words are pronounced in practice. In addition to individual words, the audio features many of the most common expressions used by Thai people in everyday conversation.

This book is suitable for self-study and can also be used as an aid in the classroom. It contains a
vast number of tips to assist you in learning Thai and understanding some of the crucial cultural aspects of the language. This book and audio will set you on the road to confident Thai language learning.

If you are the beginner, it is recommended that you first read Book I – Basic sounds. It gives you an overall understanding of the basic sounds used in spoken and written Thai and includes all 20 consonant sounds and 18 pure vowel sounds.

Much care has been taken to describe each sound in phonetic as well as in practical terms so that everyone should be able to grasp the correct way to produce Thai sounds.
